Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist CF


Job description

The Specialist Practitioner Psychologist will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive psychological service to the Regional Adult and Young People Cystic Fibrosis services within the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. The postholder’s clinical work will focus on minimising the distress and disability associated with the complex physical, social and psychological sequelae of having a chronic respiratory disease. The role will involve working with the CF multidisciplinary team advising and consulting on clients’ psychological care and leading on the development of the CF transition service for young people. The postholder will also be responsible for the provision of psychological support and training to the CF multidisciplinary team. Clinical audit, quality improvement and research activity will be supported within this post.

Responsibilities

  • Keep referral/waiting list data, activity data and other information related to demand and capacity as required. Develop and implement service improvement and/or academic research projects. (SEE JD FOR MORE INFO)

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Registered with HCPC at time of taking up appointment. Significant experience of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of neuropsychological testing, chronic illness and disability in healthcare contexts. (SEE JD FOR MORE INFO)
