College Business and Financial Analyst
Job description
The College, in conjuction with South West College (SWC), is seeking applications for a College Business and Financial Analyst to be based in our Strand Road campus. Reporting to the Financial Director/Head of Finance the postholder will assist in the development of the Colleges by preparing a range of Business Cases and Project Evaluations. The postholder will be required to ensure compliance with the Northern Ireland Guide to Expenditure Appraisal and Evaluation, all other relevant regulations and requirements as demanded by the Colleges, sponsor Department and statutory agencies. This is a joint position working with North West Regional College (NWRC) and South West College (SWC).
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare business cases in line with the 5 Case Model for the named colleges
- Lead Post Project Evaluations (PPEs) and draft reports that examine the outturn of projects and programmes and identify areas of improvement
- To deliver written, oral and visual reports, which a variety of audiences are able to understand in order to inform decisions
- To comply with all statutory and management requirements for the preparation of business cases and evaluations
- To liaise with college staff, the Department for the Economy (DfE), and external agencies in order to effectively research and analyse topics in line with the overall college/department strategies and objectives
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have at least a Level 6 qualification in the area of Accountancy, Business or Economics
- Have 2 years experience in preparing appraisals and evaluations in accordance with the Northern Ireland Guide to Expenditure Appraisal and Evaluation
- Have a current driving licence and access to a car (Applicants with a disability who have been prevented from obtaining a driving licence due to their disability (as defined by the DDA 1995) are eligible to apply)
Desirable Skills
- Hold current membership of a relevant professional body
- Have experience working in the Northern Ireland Further Education sector
