Job description

A Classroom Assistant will be required from September 2025. The appointment will be on a term time basis and based on 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with the support and care of pupil(s) with special educational needs e.g. enable access to the curriculum.
• Assist pupil(s) to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on their own by assisting with the management of the learning environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Hold 5 GCSE passes (grades A - C) or relevant equivalent or higher examination qualification including English and Mathematics.
• Hold NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant childcare qualification; or be a qualified teacher, as recognised by the Department of Education.
