Domestic Assistant with Catering Duties - Magherafelt The Domestic Assistant provides general cleaning, children food service and associated duties. Apply now to express interest in this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and floor maintenance using appropriate equipment.
• Clean sanitary areas, furniture, fittings, windows, walls, and participate in high/low-level and periodic cleaning tasks.
• Remove and rehang bed screens and curtains as required.
• Manage waste collection and disposal, including replenishment of soap, toilet paper, and other hygiene supplies.
• Receive, store, and manage cleaning materials and supplies efficiently.
• Assist with preparation, plating, and service of patient meals, ensuring correct food safety procedures are followed.
• Support building security duties, including locking up and alarm system operation if necessary.
• Follow all Trust policies and procedures related to Infection Control, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, and HSC values at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to communicate clearly, follow written instructions, and maintain confidentiality in the workplace.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team in a patient-focused environment.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Demonstrates initiative and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Knowledge of the role of a Domestic Assistant and basic awareness of Health & Safety standards.

Further Information

About the role: £12.21 per hour. Location: Galens Way Children’s Home, Magherafelt. Training provided. 30 hours a week.
