Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our service user who requires a Care Assistant. The role involves supporting a female full-time wheelchair user due to a spinal cord injury. Please note, this is a smoke-free workplace. All other details will be discussed by the employer once an application is received.

Responsibilities

• Transferring from bed to shower chair using a banana board, showering, hair washing, dressing, bowel care (training provided).
• Making breakfast, light housekeeping, occasional driving to appointments, and assisting at her voluntary work placement.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Applicants must have a minimum of one year of care experience, and hold a full UK driving licence.
• The applicant should also be comfortable around dogs, as the care recipient lives in a dog-friendly home.

Further Information

Work Time: Offering 15 to 20 hours per week on an alternating shift pattern. Week 1 covers Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am to 2pm. Week 2 covers Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am to 2pm. There may be potential to adapt this schedule by mutual agreement with an existing Personal Assistant.
