Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our service user who requires a Care Assistant for teatime visits to support her husband for an hour a day over a two-week period, most likely during the last two weeks of July. He has epilepsy related to a minor stroke and a condition called achalasia which can cause vomiting. Seizures, which resemble choking and last between 10 to 30 seconds, occur occasionally if he eats too much too quickly. To apply or learn more, please contact us by email with the subject REF0552. Please note that there is a friendly cat in the home and the family’s 18-year-old daughter will be present during the day.

Responsibilities

• The role involves heating his meal in the microwave, staying with him while he eats, and remaining for a short while afterwards to ensure his safety.

• Applicants should preferably have at least one year of care assistant experience and a valid driver’s licence.
