Practitioner Psychologist
Job description
The Maternity Psychological Service provides a specialist service to patients and staff under Maternity Services within the Belfast Trust. It is an acute hospital Service providing specialist psychological assessment and interventions for patients and their families in relation to current or past complications of pregnancy. The Service also provides consultation, teaching, supervision and support to local maternity staff and at a regional level as necessary. The successful applicant will join a growing team in providing a high quality specialist psychology service to patients and families, at the same time as offering advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to multidisciplinary colleagues. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to research, audit, policy, and service development.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the Trust’s annual appraisal process.
- Receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines and Trust policy.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Clinical experience working across the lifespan with families.
- Doctoral degree or equivalent accepted by the British Psychological Society as qualifying the person to work as a Registered Practitioner Psychologist.

Desirable Skills
- Experience working within an acute health setting.
- Experience working therapeutically in the perinatal period.
