Job description
About the role: Ensuring the Health & Safety of our guests is paramount therefore as Pool Plant Assistant you must ensure all areas of the Thermal Village are clean and safe for both staff and guests. Your role covers a lot of areas due to the scale of the Thermal Village so being able to work well & communicate within a team environment as well as using your initiative is essential. Responsibilities
- Monitoring and performing pool water chemical balance readings as part of the daily operation as required.
- Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of plant room including; injectors, pump rotation, cleaning probes, and backwash of filters.
- Liaising with spa duty managers to ensure that the hygiene, health, and safety of changing rooms and guest areas are maintained at all times.
- Monitoring floors of the thermal village and changing areas to ensure they are free of excess water.
- Cleaning poolside and pool surroundings including all poolside skimmers.
- Cleaning all areas of the pool complex including plant rooms and pool storage areas, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and well organised.
- Carrying out assessments of any damaged equipment, showers, fixtures, and fittings and where possible carry out repairs or report the need for repairs through the relevant spa procedure.
- Monitoring response times of repairs to ensure minimal disruption to service provision.
- Carrying out various routine checks as part of the Health & Safety management of the facility.
- Work in accordance with all spa and hotel risk assessments and their guidelines, such as working at height standard and subsequent risk assessment.
- Liaising with the respective Spa Manager to ensure effective communication in relation to repairs and maintenance.

- Working within the guidelines of health and safety operatives to ensure all staff and guests are safe at all times.
- Working with the team and help other departments so that a smooth, efficient working environment is achieved.
- Complying with all company and statutory regulations and policies.
- Undertaking any further duties which may from time to time be required and are commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- The ability to work effectively in a small team or alone, recognising the necessity to follow strict protocol during lone working procedure.
- The ability to demonstrate your initiative and have a proactive can-do attitude.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven track record of working within a fast-paced environment.
- Have a flexible work approach and be available to work both early and late shifts, as well as weekends.
Desirable Skills
- Previous maintenance & plumbing experience.
- Experience working in a spa environment or similar facility dealing with pools and or pool maintenance.
