Family Support Worker
Job description
At Positive Futures, we support people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and autism, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives. As a Family Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of this mission, providing essential support and making a real impact. Contributing to the development and delivery of a high-quality Service which meets the needs and aspirations the children or young people we support with a learning disability and their families to deliver our Mission. This role will be supporting children aged 5-18 years old with a diagnosis of a learning disability to commence within the service. The role will involve completing assessments and risk assessments with new families whilst also reviewing support provided to current families. The role will also involve direct support with children and young people out on activities and providing support and supervision to staff.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience of closely supporting families or individuals through challenging events, for a minimum of two years on a professional basis
- Full driving licence and access to a car to transport people supported

- Using / knowledge of Person-Centred Planning & thinking tools
- Representing people who experience disadvantage
