Job description

We are seeking a Trainee Press Brake, Water Jet and Gullotine Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will mainly work alongside experienced machine operators to learn how to operate our power press, water jet and guillotine machines. You may also be required to assist with housekeeping and general fabrication requirements when required.

Responsibilities

• Learning how to accurately interpret fabrication drawings to determine the appropriate set-up for the press brake and water jet machines.
• Learning how to set up and operate the machines in accordance with standard operating procedures and company health and safety requirements.
• Inspecting finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Learning how to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Working collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals.
• Other general housekeeping tasks and assisting fabricators where required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Some mechanical knowledge and a general interest in fabrication and machine operation.
• Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
• Proficiency in using basic hand tools.

Desirable Skills

• Some previous experience in sheet metal fabrication would be an advantage.
