Job description

As Senior Carer, you will be maintaining effective record-keeping, administering medication, leading and supporting the team of dedicated staff in providing person-centred care and support services to our residents. You’ll drive performance through supervision and mentoring of staff, delivering induction and coaching and you will be a strong role model, with residents’ needs, dignity and respect at the heart of the role. Responsibilities

• To motivate all staff within the homes and lead by example.
• To provide effective management of the home, ensuring at all times the highest achievable standards of care are delivered to residents.
• To take part in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all care delivered to the residents.
• Comply with regulations and policies involving the ordering, storing, administration and disposal of medications.
• Provide night-time duty sleep in as required.
• Maintain effective administration of information, to include effective reporting and record keeping.
• Embrace all opportunities for learning and development to help you fulfil your role to the best of your ability.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Be registered, or be prepared to register, with the NI Social Care Council at the time of taking up an offer of employment.
• NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and a minimum of two years’ experience working in a care/support environment Or five years’ experience, without an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Have sound computer/IT skills including knowledge of email and word processing.
• Clear and concise written skills.

Desirable Skills

• NVQ 3 in Care or working towards award.
