Playroom Leader
Job description
To lead and inspire a team in creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. The Playroom Leader will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality play and learning opportunities, supporting children’s individual needs, and ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the playroom.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times.
- Provide support to team members, including conducting regular staff meetings.
- Support inclusion/diversity, ensuring all children & families feel valued & respected.
- Lead a team of adults to create an environment that promotes children’s development and learning.
- Act as a key person for a group of children, observing and assessing their learning, and planning for their individual needs.
- Plan and prepare engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Maintain accurate records and keep all relevant paperwork up to date.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, building positive relationships.
- Work in accordance with the setting’s policies and procedures.
- Commit to personal professional development and continuous improvement.
- Undertake any other duties as required by management.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Early Years or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
- Level 5 Diploma in Early Years.
- Safeguarding Training.
- First Aid.
- Food Hygiene.
