Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To apply for Specialist Support Worker Waking Nights role, you must have: 3 years’ experience in a health or social care setting.
- Or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a health and social care setting. It is the applicant’s responsibility to demonstrate how their qualification is equivalent.
- Or QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health and social care setting. It is the applicant’s responsibility to demonstrate how their qualification is equivalent.
- Or a Psychology Degree and have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a health and social care setting.
- Or Psychology master's degree and have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a health and social care setting.
- At least 1 years' experience of working with people with a learning disability or autism.
- At least 1 years' experience in managing behaviours of concern through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support.
- Full, valid driving licence or an ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post.
- Be registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment, on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or other relevant professional body.
- To apply for Specialist Senior Support Worker role, you MUST have: One of the following: 4 years’ experience in a health or social care setting.
- OR QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) AND have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health & Social Care settling.
- Psychology Degree AND have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a health and social care setting.
- Or: Psychology Master's Degree AND have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a health and social care setting.
- Or: A professional social work qualification.
- Be a first level registered nurse. or
- Be an allied health professional.
- And at least 2 years’ experience of working with people with a learning disability or autism.
- At least 2 years’ experience in managing behaviours of concern through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support.
- Previous experience providing input to developing and implementing person centred support plans (Care Plans).
- Full driving licence or an ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post.
- Be registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment, on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or other relevant professional body.
Desirable Skills
- At least 1 year’s relevant supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of alternative communication systems (Visuals, PECS, AAC)

Salary: Up to £35,500 (Senior role) & £28,500 (SW role) per annum
