Job description

The post holder will provide a key contribution to the efficient delivery of the financial performance and financial planning functions within the SPPG. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

  • Leveraging a range of financial data, including Patient Level Costing Data to provide insight and rigorous challenge to Trusts around their Financial Performance, highlighting opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing specialist advice and guidance to non-financial managers on cost variation within their areas and to contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate financial performance improvement plans.
  • Providing a key contribution to the efficient, effective, equitable and economic use of the financial allocations for commissioning of health and social care to ensure the best possible use of the budget allocated for health and social care.
  • Providing a key contribution to the development of local policy for the SPPG financial strategy and financial planning in the short, medium and long term.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Full membership of a recognised professional accountancy body (ICAEW, ICAI, CIPFA, CIMA, ICAS, ACCA).
  • 3 years post qualification experience in a management role in a major complex organisation (defined as an organisation with an annual budget/turnover of at least £50m or one with at least 100 employees).
  • A proven track record of having worked with a diverse range of stakeholders both internal and external, to achieve successful outcomes for a minimum of 3 years.
