Youth Development Worker with duties listed below.
Responsibilities
- To promote and enable the personal and social development and inclusion of young people.
- We work with young people to help them better understand themselves, their social context/community and the opportunities which exist for them to learn, grow and develop.
- To offer encouragement and support, a challenge to continue to learn and a wide range of opportunities for the development of both personal skills and qualities and community involvement.
- Work as part of the youth team of the Young people’s project
- Develop & deliver responsive & attractive social & personal development programmes that link to the interests of young people
- Encourage the active participation of young people in programme
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have a recognised qualification in youth work
- Have at least 1 year’s paid experience or 2 year’s unpaid experience of working with young people in a youth work setting
- Possess good organisational skills, experience of ICT package, financial manaegment
Desirable Skills
- Have a good understanding of the issues facing young people living in communities within Inner North Belfast
- Have direct experience of designing and delivering workshops, training, sessions, programmes and projects to young people.
