Centre Manager


Job description

To provide strong strategic and operational leadership to Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group. The successful applicant will require vision, energy and a passion for community development combined with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The post requires an experienced individual with an in-depth understanding of community development who can efficiently manage the physical, financial and human resources of the organisation and represent Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group with maturity and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • The day-to-day management of the Centre.
  • Managing and overseeing the delivery of all projects undertaken by the Centre.
  • To carry out Fundraising activities and completing grant applications.
  • Completing monitoring returns and evaluation reports for funding bodies.
  • Maintaining and developing activities and facilities to support women and women's groups.
  • Developing the use of the Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group, using the aims of the project as guidelines.
  • Working with the Board of Directors in drawing up future development plans for Centre e.g. working on a new strategic plan to develop the future direction and work of the centre in the coming years.
  • Compiling written monthly reports for the management committee and attending management committee meetings.
  • Promoting the work of the Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group through social media, radio and press in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
  • No job description can cover every issue, which may arise within the post. The post holder is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which may be required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree or equivalent in a professional, management or community development discipline plus three years recent experience of managing a project (or projects) of a similar nature.
  • Satisfactory Access NI disclosure certificate (successful candidate only).
  • Hold a full, current driving license and have access to a car for business purposes.
  • Where a disability may preclude someone from holding a driving license, the ability to undertake business travel throughout Northern Ireland must be demonstrated.
  • OR Five years recent experience of managing a project (or projects) of a similar nature.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Experience of fundraising, completing project monitoring and evaluation reports.
