Job description
We are recruiting for a Chef De Partie. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, presenting/serving the food for the Restaurant/ grill bar, Conference & Banqueting departments, to include but not limited to, weddings, private dinners, functions, parties, meetings, conferences and events.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with relevant Managers and Chefs daily to confirm and deliver all catering needs.
- Ensuring the quality of food and standards of presentation are of the exceptional levels expected when dining at the hotel.
- Follow Hotel procedures with respect to grooming, performance and conduct standards, occupational health and safety, emergency procedures and all other hotel policies and procedures as detailed in the employee handbook.
- Fully understanding food GP margins and ensuring these are adhered to and achieved consistently.
- Attention to detail.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of two years experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie (CDP).
- L3 industry recognised culinary qualifications.
- Allergens awareness training.
- Very good knowledge of food safety, sanitation, food preparation techniques.
- Able to work flexible hours and days.
- Knowledge of current and updated culinary trends.
- Breakfast service experience.
- Previous working knowledge of restaurant and casual dining food preparation and service.
- Previous experience of hotel banqueting service.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing. English fluent, understand, speak, write. This is the primary language of the kitchen).
Desirable Skills
- L3 Supervising Health & Safety at work certificate.
- L3 Supervising Food Safety certificate.
- Strong kitchen background from within hotel or restaurant sector, preferably at a 4 star and Rosette standard.
- Previous 4 star hotel kitchen experience.
