Job description

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Front of House Manager to oversee daily operations in our busy chippy. This role is key to ensuring smooth service, accurate orders, and strong sales during our peak evening and weekend trading hours. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality or takeaway management and will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. Manage front of house operations, ensure order accuracy, upselling, handle tills and nightly cash up, support stock rotation, cleaning, cooking as required, lead and train staff, comply with health and safety, any other reasonable duties required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage front of house operations especially Thurs to Sun evenings 4pm to 10pm
  • Ensure orders are accurate and consistent before leaving the counter
  • Drive upselling and customer service to boost sales
  • Handle tills and ensure accurate nightly cashing up
  • Support with stock rotation, cleaning, and cooking as required
  • Lead and train staff to maintain high standards
  • Monitor customer reviews and feedback
  • Comply with health and safety and food safety procedures
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required to keep the shop running smoothly

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in hospitality, takeaway, or fast food management
  • Strong people skills and hands-on leadership style
  • Attention to detail, especially in cash handling and order accuracy
  • Willingness to take a practical role serving, cooking, cleaning when needed
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and reliable, with a commitment to evening and weekend work
  • Experience in hospitality, takeaway, or fast-food management, strong people skills, hands on leadership style, attention to detail especially cash handling and order accuracy, willingness to take practical roles cooking, cleaning, serving when needed

Further Information

Salary and Benefits: £30,000 OTE £26,000 per annum (base salary) Performance bonus up to £4000 per year linked to sales growth and order accuracy On Target Earnings (OTE) up to £30,000 per annum Training and support from the owner Hours 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends Core shifts Thursday to Sunday, 4pm to 10pm If you are passionate about delivering great service, maintaining high standards, and growing with a local business, we would love to hear from you.
