Responsibilities
- Deliver care & support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
- Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
- Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
- Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Or A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.

Role is based in our 24hr Mental Health Supported Living Service Milburn Close. Please note if successful at interview, the applicant will have to complete an enhanced disclosure check. Based in a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of Knockbracken Healthcare Park, the service includes a mix of self-contained flats and bungalows for 26 individuals, along with shared communal areas, activity spaces, and a team office.
