Job description

Operate skid steer safely to move, load, and transport timber and firewood.

Responsibilities

• Supply logs to the production line (e.g., saws, splitters, processors).
• Assist in stacking, organising, and maintaining firewood stockpiles.
• Perform basic daily checks on the skid steer (fuel, fluids, tyres/tracks).
• Keep the yard and work areas safe, tidy, and organised.
• Work with production staff to maintain efficient workflow.
• Follow all health & safety policies and report any faults or hazards.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Comfortable working in a busy yard/production environment.
• Be able to assist with manual tasks when required.
• Awareness of Health and Safety.
• Previous experience in timber or forestry.
