SEN Assistant
Job description
To assist the Leader in providing safe, high quality education and care for children aged between 2 and 5 years with special educational needs. To help fulfil legal and statutory requirements, contribute to and implement Rainbowcfc policies.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key worker for children with special educational needs and communicate progress on a regular basis with their parents, outside professionals and leaders and to supervise parent helpers during outings.
- Help prepare and fully set out the playroom before children arrive and tidy up after the children leave. Help provide and take part in all the group’s activities.
- To understand and realise the importance of play for the development of the child.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- CCLD Level 3 Children Care Learning and Development in Early Years.
- 1 years experience working in a childcare setting as a Special/additional Educational Assistant. Excellent knowledge of child development, learning and related theory.
Desirable Skills
- Additional Special Needs training.
