Job description

As a Personal Assistant, your primary responsibility is to provide assistance and support to an individual who requires help due to their disability. You will play a crucial role in empowering the individual to live independently and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Support the Service User to attend appointments where necessary and help to facilitate communication between the individual and healthcare providers as needed.
• Using your own initiative and organise activities with the Service Users agreement for them to attend in the community.
• Assist and encourage the Service User to attend various activities in the community to support inclusion and an active lifestyle.
• Offering emotional support and companionship to the individual, actively listening to their concerns and engaging in activities the Service User enjoys.
• Prompting and encouraging independence with household tasks such as meal preparation and cleaning up.
• Prompting the Service User and assisting where necessary with personal care tasks.
• Prompting the Service User in the mornings to encouraging them to get up each morning to start daily routine.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Able to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards individuals facing challenges or disabilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Desirable Skills

• Hold a UK Drivers Licence and access to/own vehicle.

Further Information

Hours per week are flexible and can be temporary. To be discussed with the employer. Candidate must be willing to undertake Access NI. 25 hours can be split between 2 or more workers if needed. Salary: £15.00 per hour approximately Flexibility required to adapt to changing schedules and working hours
