Job description
We’re currently recruiting a Community Relationship Manager to help raise vital funds and awareness for Northern Ireland Hospice. In this rewarding role, you’ll be the friendly face of the charity across your region; engaging local supporters, empowering volunteers, and helping ensure families facing life-limiting illness get the care they need. Responsibilities
- Create and implement an annual fundraising plan with the Community Outreach Manager and wider team.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of fundraising opportunities and help deliver regional and national campaigns.
- Inspire, support, and guide local fundraisers, helping them turn ideas into successful fundraising activities.
- Recruit new supporters and build lasting relationships within the community.
- Support, organise, and attend NI Hospice-led events in the region.
- Identify in-kind donations and opportunities for volunteer involvement.
- Grow and support local fundraising groups and volunteers, ensuring their experience is meaningful and valued.
- Recruit and induct fundraising volunteers, empowering them to take an active role in their community.
- Recognise and celebrate volunteer contributions to build long-term commitment.
- Collaborate with other teams to maximise potential from community relationships.
- Achieve income targets and accurately record supporter activity using the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Prepare reports as needed and ensure all income is processed in line with financial procedures.
- Represent the Hospice at events, share updates across channels, and work with teams and supporters to raise awareness.
- Communicate with families and care teams with sensitivity and respect.
- Support the wider fundraising team during busy periods.
- Be open to stepping in where needed to help deliver on fundraising goals.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 5 x GCSEs Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- 1 years’ experience and knowledge of fundraising/direct sales.
- To have a track record of planning and delivering successful events, managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Proficient in the use of IT to include MS Office packages and knowledge of using fundraising databases or CRM systems and relevant social media packages.
- Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a suitable vehicle on appointment.
