Job description

The role of the Group Finance Assistant is assisting with management accounts, supporting the Group Finance Manager and other management team members; improving, documenting and ensuring processes are followed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with completion of daily cash reconciliations.
• Responsible for completion of bank reconciliation.
• Assist with completion of tax filings including intrastate returns, TSS and other customs declarations.
• Responsible for posting and reconciliation of company credit cards.
• Contribute to the month end finance process including posting of journals.
• Responsible for reconciliation of certain balance sheet accounts including fixed assets.
• Responsible for management of debtors ledger, including posting of cash received.
• Use of the Document management system (Docuware) for invoice processing and approvals
• Other ad-hoc finance tasks as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 2 years or more previous experience working within a busy finance role within the last 5 years
• Previous experience using Sage 50 Accounts
• Previous experience completing a bank reconciliation
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Competent using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Excel

Desirable Skills

• AAT Qualification
• Experience of working within hospitality or retail industry.
• Experience within a family run business

Potential for some remote working as the role develops Salary: Salary dependant on experience (£26,500 to £28,000 pro rata 37.5hrs week)
