Nurse Manager
Job description
The post holder will be required to work across the Trust Community team to carry out the role and responsibilities of the post. The post holder holds 24/7 accountability for their area of responsibility. The post holder will be responsible for the operational management and will support the ongoing development of the Community Children’s Nursing team across the South Eastern H&SC Trust. Lead and support the coordination of discharges and transitions for children with complex physical healthcare needs to include initial hospital discharge/moves into area, and subsequent transitions between hospital, home and school and between different services and directorates, ensuring excellent communication, robust interagency working and timely discharge/transition arrangements. He/she will ensure that safe and effective care is planned and delivered to clients by a range of staff within a skill mix setting. The post holder will be a senior member of the community children’s nursing team and will be expected to make decisions about complex managerial, clinical and professional issues working in collaboration with other team members to ensure appropriate delivery of care for children, young people and families. Responsibilities
- Comply with NMC Code of Professional Conduct and NMC requirements for continuing professional development and revalidation.
- Ensure personal practice, and practice within the service reflects the standards set in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for nurses and Midwives.
- Comply with Regional Safeguarding Policies and Procedures and ensure Trust Policies and procedures for safeguarding are adhered to.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience And, 2 years at Band 6 or above working with children with complex health care needs in a community setting.
- Management of staff and financial resources.
