Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Nurse
Job description
The post holder wills an integral part of the Cardiology Service and will be responsible in liaison with the Lead Nurse for co-ordinating the cardiac rehabilitation programme, setting protocols to assess the suitability for referral to rehabilitation. The post holder will offer rehabilitation and health promotional advice in conjunction with ward staff and support patients and family both during their stay in hospital and after discharge. Responsibilities
- Ensure practice reflects the standards set in the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct.
- Ensure adherence to Professional and Clinical Policies, Guidelines and Protocols
- Lead and develop in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme in liaison with the Cardiac Team and the Head of Service.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC ‘Live’ Register
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cardiology setting within last 8 years
- Hold a port-registration qualification in specialist practice (cardiology) or willing to undertake within 2 years of commencement of post.
