Job description
We are seeking a Counsellor to provide a professional counselling service to participants on the Skills for Life and Work programme, supporting individuals with learning difficulties/disabilities to address issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Accredited (or working towards accreditation) with a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP, IACP, UKCP, NCS).
- Relevant Counselling qualification to the standard required to deliver on this programme.
- Experience of counselling individuals with autism, various learning disabilities and levels of understanding and non-verbal young people.
- Experience of working with people with learning challenges.
- Highly competent in using ICT with excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite to include SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Desirable Skills
- Training or CPD in counselling young people/adolescents.
- Training or CPD in working with individuals with learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional needs.
