Our Client, Hughes Mushrooms, is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join their expanding team, based in Dungannon. Hughes Group is a dynamic innovator in the mushroom sector of the agri-food industry, working with a network of growers to deliver top grade mushrooms, vegan and vegetarian product lines and superlative service to our customers and business partners across the UK and Ireland

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, minor repairs, and general maintenance on machinery, utilities, and the building fabric.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns or maintenance requests from production and support teams.
• Support planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise downtime.
• Maintain plumbing, basic electrical fittings, doors, floors, walls, lighting, and site services.
• Assist engineers with more complex repairs or installations when required.
• Ensure all work complies with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
• Record all maintenance tasks accurately in the site maintenance log or CMMS.
• Liaise with contractors or suppliers as required and supervise their work on site.
• Keep workshops, tools, and equipment clean and in good working order.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in a maintenance role (ideally within food or other hygiene-sensitive manufacturing).
• Good knowledge of basic plumbing, joinery, painting, and small-scale electrical work.
• Understanding of health & safety and food hygiene requirements.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with maintenance of production equipment.
