Casual Refuse Collection Driver (Crew Leader Operative)
Job description
Duties include the collection and delivery of municipal wastes and cleansing activity within the Council district to transfer or treatment points in all areas.
Responsibilities
- Drive and be responsible for any vehicle allocated for the purposes of delivering a waste collection, cleansing or other appropriate service.
- Operate in all weather conditions and supervise (refuse collection vehicles) Council vehicles and allocated (collection) crew.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Applicants must possess a minimum of 1 years experience driving a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) vehicle.
- Must have Drivers Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Applicants must possess a minimum of a valid and current Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Category C Licence
- Experience of record keeping
- Experience completing vehicle pre-use inspections to include logging and reporting vehicle defects
- Experience providing customer service to members of the public
- Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work
- A minimum of 2 years Supervisory/Team Lead or Chargehand experience
