Job title: Support Services Worker Job Type: Temporary Location: Northern Ireland Reporting to: Branch manager/ Team leader/ Nurse on duty/ Manager of Agency Job setting: Care and nursing Home Job Summary: The support services worker is an important member of the team who helps provide a range of duties in healthcare setting. You will be part of a team offering a high quality, flexible and customer focused service. Our priority is to provide the very highest standard of cleanliness. You will be provided with appropriate training to ensure that you understand the principles of infection control, the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare setting and the standards that are to be met and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen Assistance
• Laundry Assistance
• Housekeeping
• Carrying out specific cleaning and other related duties to set procedures and standards. On the job training will be provided.
• Ensure infection control policies are adhered to.
• Follow Nu-Gen policies & procedures.
• Work as part of a team, using a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst always maintaining a professional approach.
• Ensure the cleanliness of clinical and non-clinical areas is maintained to the required standards
• Establish and maintain good working relationship and clear lines of communication with team managers, staff and all visitors.
• Ensure the correct, safe, and economical use of provisions, materials and equipment

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Have sound knowledge of current issues in care for elderly people.
• Have completed the basic mandatory training in adult care.
• Have a valid permit to work in the UK.
• Be flexible and able to work on own initiative.
• Be able to complete an Enhanced Access NI check.
