Job description

Recruiting for a Maintenance Person in Portadown with duties including gardening, painting & general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all external grounds, fencing and garden tubs i.e., cutting hedges, trees, shrubs, and grass and replacing plants, as necessary.
• Check manholes and guttering and where possible clear any blockages including drainage.
• Keep outside entrances clean and ensure sills are free from cobwebs.
• Ensure the generator is run and services required by inspection unit.
• Check the fire alarm system and report, as necessary, any faults.
• Maintain all equipment e.g., Laundry, Kitchen, Nursing and Office to a safe standard as far as possible.
• Record water temperatures and ensure all necessary adjustments are made.
• Check all electrical equipment in the Home and equipment that is brought into the Home, keeping a record of same and updating records as needed for board inspections.
• Ensure the light bulbs are changed and an adequate supply is kept in storage.
• Ensure insect repellents and light covers are cleaned and checked in agreement with Domestic and Kitchen staff.
• Maintain ride on lawn mower and other equipment used for external use.
• Dispose of all refuge appropriately.
• Assist with the movement of furniture as requested.
• Decorating and maintaining rooms are requested.
• Facilitate nursing staff with G. P. messages and samples to the Health Centre.
• Be available for emergency call out.
• All records must be kept as required by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority.
