Job description
To work as a member of the Kiddiwinkles Team to ensure that all children attending the setting aged 6 weeks to 12 years, receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs.
Responsibilities
- To follow and implement Kiddiwinkles framework and any other educational influences which may be implemented to increase the learning experiences for the children in our care
- To work in partnership with children and their families to enable all children to fully access opportunities that will improve their emotional health, safety, participation, play, learning and economic well-being
- Responsible in assisting the manager in the daily running of Kiddiwinkles Care & Learning Centre whilst adhering to the policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Children Act and Health & Safety Legislation, all requirements
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Two years experience of working with children in any type of childcare setting
- Level 2 or 3 in Childcare
- A sound knowledge of child development for children aged from 6 weeks to 12 years
- An understanding of observation & planning to support children’s learning and development
- Knowledge of particular health & safety issues relevant to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years
- Knowledge of child protection
- Understanding the role ‘ Key Worker’
- -Good communication skills -Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies -Ability to maintain confidentiality
- A willingness to undertake further relevant training including some evenings and weekends
- An understanding & commitment to equal opportunities
- An understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
Desirable Skills
- Two years experience of working with children in a Daycare Setting
- Trained in: First Aid, Child Protection & Food Hygiene, Health & Safety
- A knowledge of research related to childcare & education and A knowledge of different curriculum’s and research based education for children’s learning
- Good time management
- Other personal attributes which would bring relevance to your job role i.e. musical talent, language, dancing, sports in promoting the children’s learning

Hours: 30 - 40 per week. Candidate must undergo an Access NI and relevant vetting procedures
