Job description

To assist the Leaders in providing a safe, high quality programme and care for children aged between 6 months and 14 years.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and fully set out the room before children arrive and tidy up after the children/young people leave.
• Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children and young people.
• Help provide and take part in all the group’s activities.
• To understand and realise the importance of play for the development of the child’s/ young person’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Effective teamwork.
• Fluency in English for communication and health and safety purposes.

Desirable Skills

• OCN Level 2 Youth Work or NVQ Level 2 Early Years.
• At least 6 months experience working in a child care/ Youth club setting.
