Administrative and Coaching Assistant
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: PEACEPLAYERS NORTHERN IRELAND The Administrative and Coaching Assistant will support both the administrative and programme delivery work of PeacePlayers Northern Ireland. This entry-level role is designed to provide hands-on experience in office administration, youth engagement, sports coaching and good relations facilitation. The successful candidate will learn practical skills in administration, communication, and basketball coaching, while contributing to PeacePlayers’ mission of changing perceptions, bridging divides and developing leaders. Due to our programme's being delivered to young people up to 18 years of age, the role requires the person to be over 18 years plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of programme activities and participant data.
- Support day-to-day tasks including data entry, filing, maintaining social media platforms, etc.
- Help manage digital files and online systems using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, and Forms).
- Assist Project Coordinators with communication, meeting arrangements, and logistical support for events and programmes.
- Provide general administrative assistance to ensure smooth running of PeacePlayers operations.
- Support the delivery of programmes under the guidance of experienced coaches.
- Help with setting up, running, and supervising sessions and events.
- Encourage positive participation, teamwork, and cross-community understanding among young people.
- Attend PeacePlayers training sessions to develop coaching and facilitation skills.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluating programme outcomes through surveys and participant feedback.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Enthusiastic and motivated to learn new skills.
- Interest in youth work, sport, good relations.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Basic IT skills (especially with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).
- Some experience working or volunteering with young people.
- Interest in basketball or sport for development/good relations.
- Driving Licence with access to car.

Locations: Belfast, Dungannon, Newcastle, Newry, Ballymena, Ards and North Down and Antrim.
