H&J Martin Ltd (part of the Lagan Specialist Contracting Group) is now recruiting a Commercial Plumbing & Heating Engineer. H&J Martin Limited are a Fit Out and Facilities Management company operating throughout the UK and Ireland. As part of the Lagan Specialist Contracting Group our mission is to provide Construction, Fit Out and Facilities Management solutions in an environment where people feel safe, secure and valued. The candidate will work as part of the Minor Works Team taking on all new projects throughout Northern Ireland. They will be responsible for undertaking various jobs, working as part of a Mechanical works team and providing excellent services to our high-profile customers.

Responsibilities

• To perform all tasks in a safe working manner, following statutory guidelines, company policies, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Confidence and knowledge in carrying out Mechanical works within a Commercial/Industrial setting including Hospitals, Factories, Colleges, Schools, Public and Buildings
• Proactive approach to delivering projects in an efficient and effective manner, with confidence working to a program.
• At times keeping accurate records utilising both the company’s mobile management platform and our clients’ systems.
• High standard of housekeeping, material handling and safety at all times.
• To provide call out cover on a rota basis.
• Any other reasonable duties required depending on the needs of the business.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
• Experience of working on a broad range of Commercial Mechanical Systems.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Utilise and update the company Mobile Management Information Systems for all work carried out.
• Be able to work with your own initiative, showing a flexible and problem-solving approach.
• High standard of housekeeping, material handling and health and safety at all times.
• Full driving licence.

Desirable Skills

• Commercial Gas Safe.
• OFTEC qualified.
• HVAC experience.
• Hold a relevant valid CSR Card.
• Possess a valid, clean driving licence.
• Plant and access equipment cards e.g., PASMA, IPAF Card.
