Production Operator - Composites
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: CCP GRANSDEN CCP Gransden is pleased to be recruiting for a Composite Fabricator for its High Value Manufacturing facility in Ballygowan, County Down just 15 minutes from Belfast. This exciting role will support the company’s activities in the manufacture of advanced composite parts and assemblies for customers in the aerospace, defence and automotive sectors. The ideal candidate will be a key player in the Operations Team within a dynamic and agile company. The candidate will have a willingness to be hands on in the development and execution of new and challenging projects. The role will involve a combination of manual layup fabrication work and assembly activity. We are seeking someone with good work ethic, willing to learn and flexible approach to a variety of work. Full training can be provided to a successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Operations Director become a key member of the manufacturing team.
- Deliver varied manufactured components and projects to schedule, cost and quality.
- Flexibility to move between production processes and areas as demand requires.
- Manufacture of GRP Glass Reinforced Plastic / FRP Fibre Reinforced Plastic.
- Use of associated hand tools / grinding / cutting / dust extraction.
- Working to H&S standards.
- Mixing & preparing resin materials to ratio & associated cleaning of equipment.
- Carbon fibre hand layup.
- Assembly operations.
- Inventory management.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to follow work instructions / standard work and deliver to quality standards.
- Ability to work safety and to a high level of cleanliness.
- Ability to pass BPSS security check.
- Willingness to sign official secrets act.
- Interest in manufacturing processes.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with hand lay up of GRP / FRP / Carbon Fibre / Prepreg materials (not essential as training provided).
