Job description
Banqueting/ event staff will be responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service during events, ensuring guest satisfaction with attentive service and the efficient setup and breakdown of banquet rooms. They will handle a variety of tasks, including greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and drinks, and maintaining cleanliness and the organisation of the banquet area.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate the guests needs and exceed in meeting their expectations.
- Customer care/ guest interaction.
- Guest enquiries, requests, problems.
- Product knowledge, menus, locality, hotel facilities.
- Service of food & beverages.
- Serving at functions, buffets, carvery, tray service, afternoon teas & grill bar, breakfast service, Kove Restaurant (according to business requirements).
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
- Preparing for service, set-up of tables and cleaning after service.
- Work as part of a team.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- No experience required as full on-the-job training will be given.
- Good standard of education.
- Good communication skills.
- High personal standards for personal presentation.
- Eye for detail.
- Customer care skills.
- Reliable and flexible.
- Team orientated and co-operative.
- Work efficiently and good at managing own time.
- Safe food handling.
- English fluent: understand, speak, write, for Health and safety purposes. This is the primary language of the client base.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience of banqueting and events work.
- Health & safety at work certificate.
- Food hygiene certificate.
- Welcome to excellence certificate.
- NVQ level 2 Food & Beverage Service.
- Professionalism.
- Physical stamina to be on your feet for extended periods and to carry trays, push trolleys.
