THE EMPLOYER IS: MARTIN IRVINE PRODUCTION LTD As our Assistant Video Editor, you’ll play a key role in producing professional-quality video content that aligns with both client and internal brand standards. You’ll work closely with our videographers, editors, and creative directors to assemble, refine, and deliver short-form and long-form content for social media, brand campaigns, and in-studio productions. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about visual storytelling, understands social media trends, and wants to grow within a fast-paced creative environment. Applicants must have a desire and openness to learning and developing both personal and business skills.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble short-form and long-form video content for client shoots and in-house marketing projects.
  • Manage raw footage, sync audio, and organise project files for efficient workflow.
  • Apply basic colour correction, grading, and sound design to deliver polished videos.
  • Cut social media reels, interviews, and brand story content optimised for LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with photographers and videographers to ensure a consistent creative direction across all outputs.
  • Maintain a well-organised digital filing system within Dropbox and project folders.
  • Prepare export versions optimised for different platforms and screen formats.
  • Assist with creating and updating branded motion templates (titles, lower-thirds, logo stings).
  • Manage upload and delivery of final content to clients and internal marketing teams.
  • Support brainstorming sessions for new video ideas and campaigns.
  • Identify ways to repurpose existing video material into new assets (snippets, teasers, compilations).
  • Keep up to date with editing styles, transitions, and pacing trends used in social-first content.
  • Offer input on storytelling, sequencing, and pacing to improve viewer engagement.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Strong understanding of aspect ratios, framing, and pacing for social media content.
  • Basic knowledge of colour grading and sound design.
  • Comfortable working with deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Understanding of how content performs across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with After Effects or other motion design tools.
  • Knowledge of LUTs, proxy workflows, and multi-camera editing.
  • Experience creating captions, subtitles, or animated graphics.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage workflows (Dropbox, Google Drive).
  • Interest in videography, branding, and personal development content.
  • Good eye for detail and storytelling.
