Social Enterprise Assistant


Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: STREET SOCCER NI To support the Street NI Management Team in running and developing the charity and their Social Enterprises. This includes assisting with the Street NI charity shop and general retail and admin duties. The role will also include supporting with the van removal service Street Move assisting the driver with deliveries, removals and collections of donations. The role will also include supporting people in need with food, clothes and advice.

Responsibilities

  • To assist Street NI management team with the running of their social enterprises.
  • To assist with our social enterprise Business 'Street Move' and our charity shop - selling clothes and furniture, volunteer recruitment etc.
  • To assist van driver with removals, collections and moving furniture.
  • To help staff team support people in need with food, clothes, advice and more.
  • To assist in carrying out evaluations, surveys and monitoring reports when required.
  • To assist with fundraising such as bag packs and other fundraising events.
  • To adhere to procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
  • To proactively participate in training and development opportunities, staff performance appraisals and reviews as required.
  • To comply with Data Protection Policy with regard to safeguarding sensitive information at all times.
  • To undertake the job in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in working in retail or in a charity shop.
  • Experience with working with vulnerable adults or a desire to work with vulnerable adults.
  • Physically able to lift and move furniture.
  • Able to work in a challenging environment.
  • Able to work on own initiative, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and oral) with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

  • A relevant third level qualification, for example in Sport, Community, Finance or Communications.
  • Experience of Fundraising.
  • Admin Experience.
  • Knowledge of Street NI and Homeless World Cup.
  • An understanding of the ethos of Street NI.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
