THE EMPLOYER IS: STICKY FINGERS ARTS To create and plan creative and imaginative play activities at the Imaginarium centre for children, their families, schools and community groups. Plan and deliver workshop based creative learning programs for children from 0 to 12 years with and without special needs. The Creative Play Worker will be a highly motivated and imaginative person who loves to play. This role is centred around children and childhood and creating quality creative and magical play experiences for children of all abilities. 1. Creative Play-Imaginative activity planning and development. 2. Supporting the delivery of the Imaginarium arts and creative play program for children from 0 to 12 years. ie sensory play, arts and crafts and role play games. 3. Supervision and care of children attending the activities and general play at the centre. 4. Facilitate and plan arts and creative play projects in the Imaginarium and in the community. 5. Record and document the outcomes of each session. 6. Maintain, clean and supervise the creative play spaces, ensuring no obstructions are blocking exits. 7. Any other duties as requested. Although this is a part- time temporary position, hours and contract may be extended and could lead to a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Planning play activities within the Imaginarium storyland and centre.
• Engaging with children in games and activities to suit their level of ability.
• Develop and facilitate workshop based creative activity for school groups and visiting families.
• Responsible for setting up play activity and managing the play space, ensuring all equipment is maintained to a high level, ensuring all features are kept clean.
• Responsible for setting up workshops and making sure all equipment is correctly stored.
• Providing support to the arts team on projects and events.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Have good communication skills and ability to understand instructions.
• Be able to work efficiently as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Be willing to work weekends and occasional evenings.
• Provide a warm welcome to all visitors to the imaginarium.
• Be able to engage with children in a playful and appropriate manner.

Desirable Skills

• Be imaginative and creative and have an interest in working with children.
• Experience of working with children in a formal setting.
• Experience of the arts and creative sector within Ireland.
• Formal qualifications in childcare or play work.
• Formal qualifications in health and social care.
• Experience of working in a busy environment dealing with members of the public and providing visitor support.
