General Garden Centre Assistant - Seasonal
Job description
The General Garden Centre Assistant will primarily work for the Garden Centre Manager. General duties include providing assistance and support to both customers and colleagues, helping on tills and ensuring great service is delivered and the centre's high standards are maintained. Responsibilities
- Providing customer service to customers in the centre such as assisting them to their cars with heavy/ large items such as compost, pots etc.
- Serve customers on tills & process transactions (training will be provided).
- Replenish stock as directed by line manager e.g. compost, pots, plants, birdcare, garden care.
- Replenish customer trolleys & baskets from the car park & return to areas throughout the shop floor.
- General tidying on site which include yard & sales floor as directed by line manager.
- Complete daily checklist.
- Perform any other duties as & when required by line manager.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience of working within a similar retail environment.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Previous experience using EPOS till system.
- Must possess initiative to work on your own.
- Can demonstrate great communication skills.
- Must be available to work a Sunday.
- Must be available to start immediately.
- Must be available to work the duration of contract (approx. 9 weeks).
Desirable Skills
- Experience using a pallet truck.
Further Information
Temporary position for approx. 9 weeks, average 4.5 hours, from 1pm to 5.30pm each Sunday. Salary: Up to £12.41 per hour depending on age. Immediate start required.
