Community Activities Assistant
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: EDERNEY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST Ederney Community Development Trust wish to appoint a Community Activities Assistant to help deliver programmes, services and activities for local older people to build connections, reduce loneliness, and improve their knowledge and confidence to cope with health and financial challenges. The Community Hub Assistant will provide excellent customer service to ensure that users of the Hub experience a welcoming, friendly, efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrating excellent customer care skills when dealing with personal, telephone and virtual users of the service, resolving their requests and enquiries, and providing appropriate information and signposting in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Operating in a professional manner at all times paying particular attention to service impartiality and confidentiality, being highly visible, welcoming and approachable.
- Assisting in all aspects of planning and delivery of Community Hub activities, programmes and events.
- Undertaking clerical and administrative duties as required, and keeping statistical counts and various filing duties for project reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Set up and break down rooms as required by bookings and programming schedule.
- Undertake all activities in compliance with Health & Safety at Work legislation, Ederney Community Development Trust’s Health and Safety Policy and other agreed safe methods of work.
- Undertaking duties in accordance with Ederney Community Development Trust procedures and in a safe working manner, keeping accurate and appropriate records as required.
- Lead the safe evacuation of facilities in the event of fire or other emergency and, if necessary, summon assistance from the appropriate Emergency Services.
- Any other duties of a related nature which might reasonably be required and allocated by Ederney Community Development Trust.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 3 GCSEs at grade 9-3 (A star-D) or equivalent.
- Experience of providing direct service to the public in a work or voluntary capacity.
- Experience of providing good customer care either as an employee or as a volunteer.
Desirable Skills
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- Experience of engaging with a variety of ages, abilities and communities.
- Experience of community related work.
