Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: THE FLAT PACK MAN NI LTD Flat Pack Man NI LTD is a family-owned business with five vans servicing all of Northern Ireland, specialising in the installation of bedrooms, laminate flooring, and feature walls. This position is based in our Bangor office, which includes our showroom, office, and warehouse. You'll be working alongside one other person in a relaxed environment, making it perfect for someone who is organised, dependable and eager to learn. Training will be provided and there are excellent career advancement opportunities for the right candidates. There is the potential of permanent employment at the end of the placement.

Responsibilities

  • Customer service and reception: Greeting and assisting customers as their first point of contact, answering phones and directing them to the appropriate staff members.
  • Administrative support: Handling general office duties, such as scheduling, answering emails, and filing.
  • Showroom maintenance: Keeping the showroom, displays and kitchen areas clean, tidy and presentable.
  • Stock and sample management: Labelling, organising, and tracking inventory of samples and products.
  • Event support: Assisting with the planning and execution of showroom events.
  • Sales support: Providing assistance to sales staff, which can include answering basic product questions or helping to manage client interactions.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Computer literacy and confidence using basic computer software (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace).
  • Clear and confident telephone manner.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when handling customer and order information.
  • Willingness to learn new software systems (job & order management, and payment tools) and processes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage tasks under supervision.
  • Experience using social media for business purposes (Facebook, Instagram or TikTok).

Desirable Skills

  • Basic knowledge of photo editing tools such as Canva or Photoshop.
  • Creative eye for visuals and product presentation.
  • Previous experience or education related to administration, business, or customer service (not essential).
  • Interest in interior design & home improvements.
  • Professional and polite telephone manner.
  • 1 or more years experience in an administrative or support role would be an advantage.
