Early Years Practitioner
Job description
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will be a vital part of our multi-disciplinary team, delivering engaging and nurturing early years programmes for children aged 0 to 4 and their families. Your role will include supporting the Developmental Programme for 2 to 3 Year Olds running three two and a half hour sessions weekly September to June. Delivering fun creative Outreach Play Sessions in local community settings. Building trusted relationships with families including conducting home visits. Responsibilities
- To help organise and deliver age-appropriate activities which will enhance all aspects of children’s development.
- To help promote the involvement of parents in their children’s development.
- To be aware of safeguarding/child protection issues and to make the line manager aware of any issues, in line with service policy.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- QCF Level 2 in Playwork or equivalent or willing to work towards.
- Relevant experience working or volunteering with children aged 0 to 4 years.
- A full driving licence and access to a car are essential, due to the wide geographical area covered across Mid Ulster (Applicants with a disability that prevents them from driving may demonstrate alternative means of meeting mobility requirements).
Desirable Skills
- Experience in communicating effectively with parents/carers regarding their children's needs.
Further Information
Position is based at our Maghera Programme. Salary: £26,142.40 - £28,660.16 per annum pro rata.
