Daycare Cook
Job description
The cook is responsible for menu planning, the shopping list for groceries and supplies. Stock rotation and ensuring all dates, temperatures of stock received is recorded in HACCP folder and meeting standards and stored correctly. Daily preparation of nutritious meals served to the children ages 6months to 11years. Risk assessment is conducted daily, fridge/freezer temperatures are recorded AM and PM. The kitchen is to be managed and the work of the cook is to be conducted in strict compliance for Environmental Health Department and all other applicable legislation.
Responsibilities
- To provide all the children from age 6 weeks to 11 years with meals that meet the Nutrition Matters standard.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.
- Meeting HACCP requirements.
- Completing shopping list and ordering.
- Level 2 food hygiene
- Cooking meals for children that may have allergies
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience dealing with Allergies
- Able to cook homely healthy meals for a range of ages
Desirable Skills
- HACCP Training Nutrition Matters Training Food Hygiene Training
- HACCP Training Level 2 Food hygiene Nutrition Matters training
- Experience in a kitchen
