Fire Safety Officer


Job description

To assist the Fire Safety Manager in implementing, monitoring and reviewing the Housing Executive’s Fire Safety Policies, Processes and Procedures and ensure the NIHE is fully compliant with its statutory and regulatory undertakings that reduces any risk to its customers, employees, and third parties to as low as reasonably practicable.

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for Fire Safety Management of a designated portfolio of premises in collaboration with other departments, professions and organisations (internally and externally) etc.
  • To manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the operational delivery of Fire Safety works via contractors in collaboration with other departments, professions and organisations (internally and externally).
  • To work collaboratively with team members to achieve Team and departmental objectives and KPIs.
  • To be an integral part in the design, development and delivery of both internal and external training in respect of Fire Safety.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Possess a Degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in an Architecture/Building Construction/Fire Safety related discipline PLUS 2 years relevant experience working in a building/construction function OR
  • BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5 qualification in Architecture/Building Construction/Fire Safety related discipline PLUS 3 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction or Fire Safety related function OR
  • Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning PLUS a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction or Fire Safety related function.
