THE EMPLOYER IS: GEKKOSHOT Gekkoshot is looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Digital Marketer to join our vibrant team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to kick start their career in digital marketing, gaining hands-on experience in website maintenance, SEO Blog writing and social media content creation. The Trainee Digital Marketer position is a unique opportunity to embark on a comprehensive marketing training programme. This role covers WordPress training, mastering technical website optimisation and creating content for clients socials. Through hands-on learning and mentorship, you'll develop the skills necessary to craft and implement effective marketing strategies. Comprehensive training and day-to-day support will be provided by the GEKKOSHOT marketing team. This placement offers the opportunity to gain real industry experience while building confidence and developing skills relevant to future careers in digital marketing, business administration and content creation. As there is a small office dog on-site, applicants should be comfortable working around dogs and ensure they have no allergies that would be affected.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating and editing website content.
  • Create engaging content for various social media platforms including graphics, posts, and stories to increase audience engagement and brand visibility.
  • Monitor social media trends to ensure content is timely and relevant.
  • Assist in developing social media strategies and campaigns.
  • Blog writing.
  • Working with video files.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent with computers and online platforms (email, social media, basic Excel/Sheets).
  • Competent with social media platforms, with a keen interest in Instagram and Tiktok particularly.
  • Organised and able to manage tasks independently with guidance.
  • Enthusiasm for digital marketing and social media.
  • Willingness to learn and take part in training and mentoring.
  • A love of dogs and enthusiasm for working with pet-focused content.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic understanding of WordPress is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canva, or similar digital tools.
  • Confidence in using Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms for brand promotion.
  • Interest in animal-related or lifestyle brands.
  • A passion for content creation whether that's writing, photography, video or social storytelling.
