THE EMPLOYER IS: ELEVEG We are seeking a motivated and innovative Junior App Developer to join our growing Eleveg team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, contribute new ideas, and grow with an early-stage Agri-tech start-up developing an innovative growing and meal-planning app. The successful candidate will support front-end and back-end development using React Native and MongoDB, assist with debugging, testing, and app updates, and help integrate new features that connect users’ growing data with meal plans. You’ll work closely with our development team and gain hands-on experience in UI/UX design, API integration, and database management, while developing key problem-solving and teamwork skills. We’re not expecting expert-level experience - just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about technology, sustainability, and innovation who is looking to take their first step in the tech sector.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining the Eleveg mobile application using React Native and MongoDB.
• Support front-end and back-end integration, including testing and debugging of new features.
• Help design, update, and refine the user interface (UI) to improve user experience.
• Work with the development team to implement and test API connections between app modules and databases.
• Participate in regular team meetings, contributing creative ideas and problem-solving input.
• Maintain accurate records of development tasks, progress, and testing outcomes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Basic understanding of JavaScript and modern web/app frameworks (React or React Native preferred).
• Interest in app development, problem-solving, and learning new technologies.
• Good understanding of databases and how data connects to applications (experience with MongoDB is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
• Organised, reliable, and able to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with React Native, Node.js, or Express frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of API integration and version control tools such as Git/GitHub.
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles and user-centred development.
• Experience with mobile app testing or debugging tools.
• Creative mindset with an eagerness to explore new ideas and improve digital user experiences.
