Assistant Services Manager Band 8A
Job description
The post-holder will assist the Head of Service /Chief Operational Officer DHH in the strategic development, co-ordination and delivery of high-quality services, including the management of unscheduled care pressures. The post holder will support the HOS with management of Clinical Areas, Physician Associates, Resident Doctors and Speciality remit. In addition, the post holder will work with the HOS to present performance reports, papers at the request of the Chief Operational Officer DHH. The post holder will liaise closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to improve channels of communication, allow maximum utilisation of resources, and promote continuity and co-ordination of the services within their sphere of responsibility. The post-holder will provide clear leadership and oversee the co-ordination of all staff within their span of control. The post holder will assist the Service Manager to deliver access, governance and financial targets within their area of responsibility and the management of cost improvement programmes to support the achievement of balanced budget. The post- holder will deputise in the absence of the Head of service where appropriate.
Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 6 years experience at middle management Band 6 or above, within a major complex organisation 5 years in a senior management role band 7 in an acute hospital setting.
Desirable Skills
- Proven experience of working in an acute hospital setting.
