Concern Worldwide (UK) is looking for a Senior Legacy Marketing Executive to join the team on a full time, permanent basis from January 2026. Staff are also able to flex their start and finish times between the hours of 7am to 7pm daily. About the role: Legacies and in-memory giving play a vital role in ensuring lasting change for communities around the world. The Senior Legacy and In-Memory Marketing Executive will help deepen our supporters’ connection to our mission inspiring them to create a legacy of hope and opportunity for future generations. Reporting to the Supporter Development and Legacies Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the legacy strategy, delivering thoughtful, inspiring campaigns that celebrate the impact of legacy and in-memory giving. You’ll combine creative storytelling with data-driven insight to nurture meaningful supporter journeys, ensuring everyone who chooses to remember us in their will or in tribute to a loved one feels valued, respected, and part of something truly transformative.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and delivering the Legacy Strategy, setting and achieving key performance targets that align with the annual fundraising operational plan.
- Regularly analyse results, identify trends, and provide insights and recommendations to refine and strengthen the strategy. Review campaigns and ensure that information is used to maximize income for future campaigns.
- Responsibility for monitoring and reporting on Legacy budget. Lead on building future expenditure and income targets. Work as part of the Fundraising Team to reach strategic targets.
- Matrix managed delivery through the Direct Marketing Executive roles in the team to deliver Legacy Marketing plan.
- Management of activity for the recruitment of legacy pledgers through our existing Acquisition and Development channels (DRTV, Face to Face, Paid search and Paid Social, Seasonal newsletters and appeals).
- Lead end-to-end campaign management and execution within agreed deadlines, including agency briefing, creative material development, data selection, copywriting, approvals, and proofing.
- Manage legacy journey mapping with a focus on stewarding legacy enquirers, pledgers, and long-term supporters through personalised engagement and tailored communications.
- Ensure that legacy campaigns are, where possible, integrated or co-ordinated by target audiences above and below the line marketing activities, to maximise impact.
- Act as an internal advocate for legacy and in-memory giving, supporting colleagues across fundraising, communications, and programmes to champion these areas.
- Work closely with & influence Major Donor Partnerships Team, Supporter Care and other units to ensure integrated working and consistent messaging around Legacy giving & volunteering.
- Working closely with other members if the Supporter Development Team and Major Donors on a Mid Value Programme.
- Scope and understand the opportunity for In-memory giving for Concern Worldwide UK, to build out this area of the portfolio.
- Work with international teams to share stories of impact and ensure legacy and in-memory communications authentically reflect our global work and values.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, best practice and industry standards around the promotion of legacies & community fundraising and adhere to all relevant regulatory procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proven skills and aptitudes to complete complicated procedures.
- Demonstrable analytical skills and highly numerate with experience of keeping and monitoring financial & budgeting reports.
- Proven experience and knowledge of legacy giving, including channels for direct marketing to drive legacy giving.
- Experience of using a fundraising database for effective analysis of direct marketing campaigns and trend giving patterns.
- Strong understanding of donor stewardship and the motivations behind legacy and in-memory giving.
- Experience of working with external suppliers to deliver successful direct marketing campaigns.
- Strong organisational planning and project management skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent written skills including experience of writing and commenting on fundraising copy.
- Excellent understanding of delivering excellent customer service/donor care.
- Understanding data protection, GDPR, and ethical fundraising standards.
